Europe's Radio King is now taking over the Internet

Joseph Sonny Laragan, has had over 30 years of broadcast experience working alongside Philippine media icons like Mel Tiangco, Mike Enriquez, Tina Monzon-Palma, to name a few. He served as the youngest News Director of Mareco Broadcasting Network for staions DZBM-FM and DWOO-AM in the 1980’s. CPN’s radio stations play 24/7 Original Pilipino Music from the 60s to the present. The stations deliver a wide range of music from rock, pop, soul, folk, and even traditional music and other types to cater to individual preferences. It also delivers news from the Philippines every top of the hour, Embassy updates, and live discussion programs which are focused to inform, educate, announce relevant activities and entertain the community It also promotes local Filipino artists and new talents. Not only has the station made waves in the Filipino community in the UK but Filipino listeners started pouring in from all over the globe, but it has become the biggest of its kind, serving over 9000 Filipinos in the UK to date.

Pinoy Radio UK (PRUK), the first ever professional and fully-operational radio station online for Filipinos in the UK, was launched in the same year. As the official radio station of the Filipino community in the UK, the Philippine Embassy in London hosts a weekly program to announce relevant information for migrants in the UK.

Not only has the station made waves in the Filipino community in the UK but Filipino listeners started pouring in from all over the globe.

The success of Pinoy Radio UK was followed by the birth of Pinoy Radio Nordic in June 2012 to serve Filipino migrants in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland. Soon after, Pinoy Radio France was launched before the year ended in December 2012.

For the first half of 2013, the network has grown to 7 stations to include Pinoy Radio Benelux, Pinoy Radio France, Pinoy Radio Italia, Pinoy Radio Germany and Pinoy Radio Espanya.

By the end of 2013, the network aims to open 4 more stations in Austria, Switzerland, Greece and Ireland hoping to serve over 800,000 Filipinos in Europe.

Sonny Laragan is also the pioneer of Yes Philippines News Magazine UK, a local newspaper for the Filipino community in the United Kingdom which features significant stories of the community.

The news magazine contains embassy updates, news stories, and personality sketches of Filipino figures in the United Kingdom.

Yes Philippines News Magazine releases monthly, available in the Philippine Embassy, and local FIlipino restaurants and outlet.
